Jamie's Farm

We architects are beholden to the needs and wants of the people who must live with our designs. It’s a responsibility, and none more so than in the case of Jamie’s Farm Lewes.

Jamie’s Farm is a charity that runs a clutch of working farms designed to give teenagers from a host of different and often difficult backgrounds the opportunity to explore what it means to work the land. Part new build, part conversion, the brief for making Jamie’s Farm Lewes fit for purpose saw a sixteenth century farmhouse refurbished as visitors’ residence and another commercial space requisitioned as the charity’s staff residence.

The perfect base from which to see the world afresh, Jamie’s Farm Lewes was opened by HRH the Duchess of Cornwall and has been nominated for a heritage award. A truly meaningful piece of work.
