Grand Designs magazine have published Priory Barn, Lewes within the Eco News section of their March issue.

The article entitled "Smart Design" discusses the project and details the long lasting benefits of installing photovoltaic panels and an MVHR system.

BakerBrown worked closely with the client to create a new 150m2 two-storey dwelling containing three bedrooms which provides a substantial living space. The dwelling is entered at ground floor level on to a generous entrance hall with a feature wrap over eaves roof light. The ‘L shaped” kitchen/living/dining area is accessed by way of a glazed door coming off the entrance hall as is a ground for w.c. and utilities room. Bi-fold glazed doors wrap around the south west corner of the ground floor opening up the kitchen living space to the garden.

Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) and Photovoltaic technologies along with a highly insulated building fabric and under floor heating were chosen to help lower the energy bills and create a very energy efficient dwelling.
